More Information
Our day begins in Warsaw, where we’ll pick you up from your hotel in the city center and head toward the Masurian Lake District, a region known for its peaceful landscapes and dense forests. Along the way, we’ll talk about Poland’s wartime history and the key role this region played in the conflict.
Upon arrival at the Wolf’s Lair, we’ll step into a world filled with secrets and tragedy. This vast complex of bunkers and shelters, hidden deep in the woods, once served as the nerve center for Nazi operations. It was here that the infamous July 20th plot to assassinate Hitler was discovered, a moment that might have changed the course of European history.
We’ll walk through the remnants of buildings, including Hitler’s personal bunker, from which he fled just months before Nazi Germany’s fall, as well as the living quarters of top commanders. As we move through the ruins, the sheer scale of the site becomes clear. The forest’s eerie stillness enhances the experience, offering space for quiet reflection.
After the tour, we’ll enjoy a comforting Polish meal at a nearby restaurant, local flavors providing a warm contrast to the weight of the history we’ve just encountered.
